“Fools for Health” is doing a fundraiser at Phog…and you should come!
Join us on Friday, February 1st at 9:00 p.m. at The Phog Lounge, 157 University West in Windsor for a great fundraiser featuring local bands and for the low price of $5.00! All proceeds will assist “Fools for Health” in providing its valuable Clown-Doctor and Familial-Clown services in area hospitals and seniors’ residences.
“Fools for Health” is an award winning charitable organization dedicated to using the arts to promote health and well-being in healthcare facilities. We are part of an international network of collaborative researchers on the effects of humour within healthcare settings. We work with patients/residents, their families, and the healthcare team to promote wellness and increase quality of life through the therapeutic use of music, improvisational play, reminiscence, and humour. “M.F.M. is a gospel/folk/blues influenced group from Windsor, ON” that always has a great energy on stage, playing originals and select covers.
Also playing is a music-scene newcomer, Erin Britton, that stunned a Grean Bean Coffee audience by playing her own songs live (for her first-ever performance) and for just being awesome. Local mainstay musicians saw her and reported directly, saying, “BOOK HER!” Now she’ll be playing this event!
AND the fantastic duo known as The Maple Keys, will round out the talent performing that evening. They formed recently in Windsor, Ontario, but have been playing together for over 4 years. Both members of the duo are privileged to come from a richly musical family, with roots in bluegrass, folk and ragtime. They bring tight harmonies, high energy, and dynamic musicality to the stage, and enjoy sharing their love of obscure and original music with the mainstream world.
