Quanbury is working on a new album of original material, written in a garage in the north end of Winnipeg and inspired by loneliness and longing. USA immigration issues have forced a relocation back to Winnipeg while his wife remains in Austin – a forced long-distance relationship. He is working with veteran producer Michael P Falk at Paintbox Recording and will release the album on Falk’s label Head In The Sand in 2017.
As a founding member of the band Twilight Hotel, Quanbury toured North America and Europe and received two Juno nominations, for the albums Highway Prayer (2008) and When The Wolves Go Blind (2010). On a trip to New Orleans to rebuild a flood-ravaged house, Quanbury was inspired by a brass band performing in the street. After returning home to Austin he started performing with the Minor Mishap Marching Band – dressing up, dancing, and developing a new stage persona.” Provincial Lines (Toronto) makes it’s debut at Phog…even though one half of the band has been to Phog a few times. Graham Playford is an excellent musician…and the samples of their music online is EXCELLENT. $5
